Changes to the Provision of Public Transport 13th June 2016
- Coastal Accessible Transport (CATS) and others have concluded a formal agreement with the District Council for the provision of public transport services. The agreement will run for five years. The services, named “Connecting Communities” include “demand responsive transport” (or “dial a ride”) and a community car service.
- All services can be reached by dialling 01728 635 938 or via www.suffolkonboard.com/cc. Call handlers will be able to advise on onward connections.
- Concessionary fares/bus passes are acceptable on some services.
- Services run from Monday to Saturday (both days inclusive) from 7am to 7pm. Bookings may be made up to two weeks ahead and there is no limit on the number of bookings. The providers of the new service state that they are looking to help meet the travel needs of those working and/or attending college.
Buses
There is just one regular scheduled service run by Fairline Coaches (Service Number 121) from Great Glemham to Woodbridge and Ipswich on the first Tuesday of each month. It departs from the phone box at 10.08, and returns from the Old Cattlemarket Bus Station in Ipswich at 1.40pm (2.10pm in school holidays) calling at Woodbridge at 2.07pm (2.37pm). Bus passes can be used on this service.

The nearest railway stations are at Saxmundham and Campsea Ashe (the Wickham Market halt) on the East Suffolk Line.
